Carsten H. Meyer holds an M.D. degree and serves as a specialist in vitreoretinal diseases. He went to medical schools in Freiburg (), Innsbruck (), and Oxford () and obtained his medical degree from the University of Munich, Munich, Germany. Dr. Meyer completed a 2-year vitreoretinal research Fellowship at the Duke Eye Center. He serves as a affiliated Professor at the Retina Department of the Federal University of Sao Paulo and is a consultat at the Eyedoctors Davos, CH. His main interests include im chromovitrectomy, macular surgery and novel treatments in AMD. Dr. Meyer is an editorial board member in 6 ophthalmic journals and performed >1200 reviews, published >40 book chapters, >320 articles in peer reviewed journals. He holds membership in the Retina Society, Club Jules Gonin, EURETINA and received the AAO Achievement Award (2008); the Moacyr Álvaro Gold Medal (2018) in Sao Paulo and Leonhard-Klein Award (2020)
